Brighton based self-taught artist, Mahmoud ElHadary, began his art journey a few years ago when he was struggling to cope with the events surrounding him. He had found calmness in the colors and brushes his sister had left behind before moving abroad. Being an aspiring author had made it easy for Mahmoud to transfer his emotions to canvases as well as on papers. Though, the canvases had given him a safer and a broader environment to tackle issues that he was not able to discuss before. His work revolves around the themes of migration, borders and community.
Being a dentistry graduate, Mahmoud aims to break through societal barriers, expectations, and stereotypes surrounding shifting careers -especially for those with professionally degrees and designations- and emerge as a part of ever-changing and dynamic art scene.
